I'm no expert Alan but neither my 2610 nor 660 behave like that. Ik you enter a route in the middle, or if you skip a waypoint, the device recognises you're (back) on the route and continues from there automatically.

Same on my ancient Quest-I... leave the route, get back on or start somewhere in the middle, the phlegmatic thing notes you're moving in the right direction and keeps ticking...

Don't get me started on the "all new" stuff like BaseCamp or Garmin Express and their "features"...

I guess we could place it here in our library along with Phil's tips?

I've only used Navman (Australian/NZ Company) and it's related Cheaper Mio Moove and they both had the skip waypoint function.

Even the Sygic GPS software on my android phone, tab etc will keep directing me to a waypoint that I haven't gone to if I don't skip or delete the way point while travelling.

Seems a quite annoying issue...
Imagine you'd placed a real WP for a stopover only "approximately" on your PC/plotting software (wrong zoom-factor, didn't know the exact location), but the actual road layout then leads you like 50~100 meters around that WP... those units actually insist on [make a U-turn] when you then continue on the real route??!

That's the case only if you 'miss' a waypoint. It will pickup where it left off on the route otherwise. And there is a workaround for the missed waypoint. The issue is IGO8 will not let you delete the 'start' of a loaded route. The fix - physically stop, find current coordinates (binoculars in upper left corner then select COORDINATES), select, brings you back to menu to chose as "SET AS DESTINATION" but at the bottom is an option to see more choices, pick it and you will find 'SET AS START' as one of the options. Set current position as start, then edit route and delete second point which is the offending waypoint. It sounds more complicated than it really is once you do it. Working on the sunshade pictures.

Here are some pictures of my 'homemade' sun shade for a Rage GPS. I made it out of a 1 inch poly binder I got at an office products shop. A little industrial strength Velcro and you have an inexpensive alternative.

My old 2610 died on Saturday while going to pick up the trailer so looking for a sat nav can't afford these stupid prices from Garmin and Tom Tom.
Found this on Ebay looks like they are selling the Chinavision one with loaded maps?
